How Is My Great Grandmother Connected To Affiliate Marketing?
Category: Affiliate Marketing
In 1850, my great grandmother’s parents came to California with their three sons and their youngest daughter. Her name was Mathilda and she was only 17 years old. Her family was among the hundreds of thousands Americans and foreigners who arrived to the Western state in hope of finding gold.
The story that was passed through generations in my family insists that Mathilda, without any help, found one of the richest gold fields in Sierra Nevada. There is another story about her scandalous love affair with a handsome yet married man, who subsequently fathered my great grandfather. But we’ll talk about that some other time.
As you can probably imagine, Mathilda was a remarkable woman. The enormous wealth she had acquired in 1852 in California was totally lost by her grandson, my grandfather, in 1929 in New York, when the stock market crashed. Fortunately, she died in 1920 and was spared the heartbreak.
“Why are you telling me your family’s history?” I can almost hear you asking me now, “What does your grandmother have to do with affiliate marketing?” You’ll know soon, my friend. Don’t lose your patience.
In the middle of the 19th century, hundreds of thousands went to California in search of gold. Only few found it and made a fortune. First, they grabbed the opportunity when it presented itself to them; second, they possessed the courage to take risks on the road to fulfill their dreams; and third, they had both the knowledge and the tools to accomplish their goal. My great grandmother Mathilda was one of them. She left me a great legacy: “She (or He) who dares - conquers.”
This, my friend, is all there is to it. Affiliate marketing on the Internet is the Gold Rush of the 21st century. Don’t miss out on your chance to be one of the few. Take hold of the opportunity today, before it’s too late. If you want to fulfill your wish to strike gold, have courage, find the information and the tools, and go hunt it!
The Internet, although already so advanced and overwhelming, is still in its diapers. It is as California was in the middle of the 19th century, full of hidden gold. Only now, instead of a pan and a shovel and hard physical work, you can sit at home in front of your computer. Only the gold is the same precious gold. Anybody can do it, you too.
Now is the time. Don’t wake up 5 or 10 years from now regretting your failure to spot the occasion on time. Don’t forget Mathilda: “She who dares - conquers.”
